BeachComber in Montauk - need advice - other hotel feedback appreciated!
Anyone stay at the beachcomber? We are looking to book this hotel. It has a suite since we are taking our 13 month old son and want a one bedroom suite with a kitchen. I know it is not in town but has a pool and is near the ocean. Any thoughts?
I looked into the Royal Atlantic and they want us to book a minimum of 4 nights during the week & we can only go for 3 nights.

We rented a house a few doors down from there and enjoyed the location ... it happened to be pouring rain when we were there and drove into town anyway. The ocean is right across the road.

I went in 2008 and LOVED it! It's right across the road from the beach. The pool is really nice and the room was nice too. Nothing fancy, just nice. They were so many families there. It's not IN town but not far from it at all. I will def. go back. Another great place was The Oceanside Beach resort. Again, nothing fancy...but nice. The only thing with that place is, I went in June 2007 and they didn't have AC in the rooms. That may be needed depending when you plan on going. This place is walking distance to town.

I'm not sure if you're a "walker" but not being close to town bothered me (we stayed at Gurneys) since I couldn't put DS in his stroller and just walk to get breakfast, coffee, newspaper, do some shopping etc.
