Beautiful Mount Airy Lie
They had been trying to get DH's firm to invest in them. He got this on Bloomberg today. He was telling me about it and now I can't get the song out of my head.

New Yorkers who have been here since the 1980s cannot forget an old television jingle celebrating “the beautiful Mount Airy Lodge” in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. That hotel featured such things as floor-to-ceiling mirrors and heart-shaped bathtubs, but it had declined to a sad state by the time it closed in 2001.
Then its fortunes brightened. In late 2006, the man who had taken control of the property, Louis DeNaples, won a license for a casino hotel on the site. Last August, just before the leveraged loan market froze up, his company managed to borrow $480 million to build the property.
Given its history as a honeymoon resort, it seems cruel that word arrives on Valentine’s Day that Mount Airy’s casino license has been suspended, throwing the loan into default. On Jan. 30, Mr. DeNaples was indicted on four counts of perjury for allegedly lying to gaming officials about his association with two reputed organized crime figures.
“It is currently unclear how management will resolve these issues with its lenders,” an analyst at Standard & Poor’s, Ariel Silverberg, said in a news release this week.
For the lenders, the honeymoon may be over.

hahahah I went there once when I was a teenager.
it was a dump compared to how the commercials made it out to be.
