Because of the Fires in Cali - I'm wondering, do the fireproof safes really work?
We have one, but I don't know that it would be able to hold up in a fire that is like those of California?

Fires are fires for the most part. Fire-proof safes are rated at time and temperature. They'll stand up to a fire for their rated time/temp, no matter how the fire is started. The winds are blowing really fast, so I'm thinking that the fire is consuming the house quickly, giving the safe less time in the fire.
