Becky's Bootcamp Log Updated: 6/23....

So I was going to join the July 7th session, but they had openings still left for the June 2nd session, eventhough I missed the first 3 days.

Today was my first day. It is held at Eisenhower Park @ 5:30 am. I chose the 5 days a week option.

Week 1:
6/5 - Power walked 3.5 miles and did leg drills.

It was actually really good. I was so nervous because it was my first day and didn't know what to expect. Everyone was really nice and it really motivated me.

6/6 - So we were timed for a mile run today. OMG, I thought I was in school again. Chat Icon Chat Icon We also did some agility tests and a lot of sit-ups and push-ups. So far I give the program an *A*

Week 2:
6/9 - Today was tough since I was so soar from the previous week. The work out wa great though. The teacher "Sandy" really motivates you and put immagese in your mind that will make you work harder. We warmed up by walking and then did a lot of lifting. I feel it already.

6/10 - We power walked/jogged a mile, did some jump rope and other things, repeated and then did a lot of sit-ups

6/11 - Today was hike day. We did the fit trail at Eisenhower. It was a total of 4 miles (Power walk) which is great because it really helped stretch out my soar legs.

6/12 - Today we did arms and cardio (jumping jacks and knee lifts). A lot of lifting, but it felt great!!!

6/13 - Today we did legs.

Week 3:
6/16 - We did obsticles today and some running.

6/17 - Today was kind of hot!! We lifted weights (3 sets), ran around a little track and did that 3 times. Then we did abs and push-ups.

6/18 - Today was sword fighting with Becky. It was actually really fun and WOW my arms were hurting

6/19 - Today was hike day.

6/13 - Today we did legs and cardio. We did front and back puch-ups and step on the park bench.

Week 4:LAST WEEKChat Icon
6/23 - Bi's Tri's and abs.

6/24 -legs

6/25 - We did kickboxing today with Becky (she came to visit us). It was a really good workout.

The class can go up to 40 ppl, but in this class there was only 20 ppl. I'm not sure if some people weren't there. I know you can do it 3 days a week, so maybe their schedule is M-W-F.

Yes, I can't even sit on the toilet. Chat Icon Chat Icon

My body is really soar, but its a good soar. It really is the best thing I've done in a long time. Believe me, I'm REALLY not a morning person, but I get really motivated to wake up and work out (I can't believe I'm saying this). If anyone wants more info, let me know. I figured if I posted about it, you would see what really goes on.

Sorry that you are sore, but it sounds like it is a great motivator for you!

Can I ask you about the level of the bootcamp? Do people do the level that they are or does everyone do the same? IE running vs walking/power walking

You basically go at your level. If we do a run and you aren't able to do it, they tell you to power walk. There are some girls that actaully run who are in better shape, but also a lot that walk. Everyone does the same thing, but if you are soar, she tells you something else to do. It's great!!!

I'm sorry it's your last week - will you sign up for the next one? I would totally be into it if it wasn't a 25 minute drive!

unfortunately I can't afford to do it every session. I'm trying to see if I can join the fall one. I don't know where you are, but there is one in Queens too. Someone on here said they were starting a Suffolk one too.

Ah, the weight part. Well this is where it gets frustrating. I lost 5.6 lbs the first week, GAINED 5 lbs the second week and lost it back the 3rd week. BUT I went down a pant size and my cloths are much looser. I feel really good actually and that is why I'm sad it is almost over.

I'm definitely going back in the fall, I just can't afford the next session.

Becky actually told me they have a virtual workout that you can do at home or a gym now. It's $39 a month by month. I might try that. I just don't want to loose my motivation not waking up at the crack of dawn you know.

DO IT!!! I think it is totally worth every penny. Also, if you decide after the first week that you want to do 4 or 5 day, they will just charge you for those days. Chat Icon

I know. I think you should still get up and work out. There are plenty of fitness websites that give you workout routines. I think you should still go to the park (or wherever you do it now) and so some workouts. This way you keep your motivation and you see that you CAN do it on your own!

GREAT job with the pant size. Wow, in 4 weeks...that's INCREDIBLE. And, witht he stuff you were doing it sounds like you really built some muscle, no doubt Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
