if you have either of these, or know anyone who does, what are your thoughts?

I'm trying to decide between the beco butterfly, beco gemini, and ergo.

My baby loves facing out, but I am hearing more and more that that position is not good for the baby. DD is 7 months old now, but I think she will like to be carried for quite awhile.

Butterfly only does front (facing in) or back carry.

Gemini does front (out or in), hip and back carry.

Ergo does front (facing in), hip and back carry.

sorry to confuse you movre - but the lillibaby does it all - on front facing in or out, on back and hip - i like it very much after about 1 month - before then used a sling

I have the Butterfly and love it. They didn't have the Gemini when I bought mine, but I would have loved the option of facing out too.

I hated the Ergo and returned it. I found it to be uncomfortable.

Thanks for posting this!
My sister has the ergo and loves it. I borrowed the manducca and hated it. I am very tempted by the gemini as I like the facing out option.

For those of you who carry your baby do you carry your older babies - ie older than one? I am SO tempted to get a gemini but DS is a year and usually wants to walk everywhere and I use my stroller everywhere else - just wondering if its worth it at this stage/

I have the butterfly and LOVE it--one of the reasons I chose it over the ergo was that I liked that the baby was still "in" the carrier even if you had to unclip the waist clip for some reason. I am very interested in the Gemini, although I doubt I would face out carry that much. To the AP, I carried my older son over one (until I was pregnant and couldn't)---he was very comfortable on my back and it was easier in situations I didn't want a stroller or just in and out of stores without a cart. I use my butterfly almost every day with my now 7 month old.

I will! I have been trying so hard to find the "right" carrier, but I think there are probably carriers better suited for different situations. I just got a hot sling, and I like it, but don't love it. It doesn't feel super secure, so I like to have a hand available to put under my baby, and don't find the side/hip position comfy when I'm pushing my other DD in her stroller. So, I'm hoping the Gemini works for longer outings when I need that security. I do like my hotsling for around the house, in my back yard, and when it's just the two of us. (It basically provides a little extra support in lieu of carrying her on my hip)
