bed bugs?

sooooo I need help.. and no I don't have them
my brother had them in his house last year he cleaned up his place, sprayed, bombed, blah blah. anyway I am watching my neice 2 days and my husband is 100% against me watching her because after doing some reading he said they can travel with you with luggage clothes ect....

he wants me to call my brother and tell him I can't watch her because I am prego and if they get in our house we have a newborn and we don't need that.

I feel bad because I know it is not his fault..and I know in some way his feelings will be hurt.

Re: bed bugs?

I would think since it was a year ago and because he took all the necessary steps to get rid of them that there really isn't a chance for them to be brought to your house by having your niece over.

I don't think I would tell my brother no after I already said yes because of that. JMO

Re: bed bugs?

If this eases your mind, we have had bedbugs at my job for over a year and no one I know KNOCKONWOOD has brought them home yet! I don't think you should worry and you can see them AND their bites so just try to be observant!

Re: bed bugs?

Many of the children in my school have bed bugs and I had a scare a few weeks ago that I brought them home. They definitely are extremely difficult to get rid of and do sometimes resurface. Many public places in NY have bed bugs, but it is highly unlikely that you would bring them home. If your DH is really concerned, you could take the bags the kids pack and keep them in large ziploc bags while they aren't in use. Just check their clothes before they put them on and keep your eyes peeled. You can definitely see them if you look. I know thsi whole process would be a pain, but at least your mind would be at ease. GL!
