Bed Rail Help please...
Bella's big girl bed is coming on Friday. It's a twin and we will need one of those child railings. Is that available at BRU?
Also, any suggestions on bedding? Evreything is SOOO pink. Bella's walls are a soft purple....

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
Can I make a suggestion of skipping the bed rails?
First, their legs can get caught in it, which causes more problems then it's worth.
I would lay a pillow along side of them & the floor was cushioned if they did fall.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
This is what I have.
I used it for Nicholas, and now for Joey...never a problem.
They are mesh, so no limbs get stuck (like in between the slats of a crib).
They are very easy to "install" and set up.
They fold away easily to make the bed/ strip the sheets.
I bought it in either BRU or BBB. They are sold anywhere children's bedding is sold.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
We bought the Hide-Away Double Sided Portable Bed Rail by Regalo International - we got it at Buy Buy Baby
It seems to work very well - we never have had any problems with it, and it keeps Ali in the bed, cause she is all over the damn place
Here is a picture: It was $35

This happened with my sister so my mom keeps her crib mattress under her bed and pulls it out at night (like a trundle bed) to catch her, should she fall.

I used this for DS when I made his crib a day bed, got it at BRU. Now he has a toddler bed an non of the bed rails fit with the little rail thats already there so I am using a home made rail. My son has always been a VERY ACTIVE sleeper so it was not an option for me not to use a rail, but I never had a problem with the one I used.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
I didn't use them. I say see how she does.
We did what Barbara did - put pillows on the floor. Jake fell out 3 times total over the past 4 months. Didn't get hurt - he was more p!ssed than anything.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
Marshalls and TJ Maxx have some nice quilt sets for kids. They have them all the time in all different themes. They are comparable to PBK.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
if you got a mattress with a pillow top, they're too tall for bed rails. we got a pillow top for my son, since he liked sleeping in our bed so much. we tried almost every bed rail out there, and the most they came up was maybe 2 inches over the top of the mattress. totally useless. so we put a long body pillow down on the bed to slow him down and some blankets on the floor. he was fine.

we wound up getting it at THE PLACE. White twin bed and matching tall dresser. Looks like Pottery Barn. I am so sad though

I have something similar.
Rj would fall out of the toddler bed often and in turn it would startle him and wake him up.
Also- I think Home Interiors has a beautiful lavendar bedding set.
I bought Rj's bed set there. Its great quality and has tons of matching decoratives.

Re: Bed Rail Help please...
We use one of those mesh bed guards, so her legs/arms don't get caught in it. We bought it at Target, I believe.
As for bedding, I took her to Ikea and let her pick it out herself - they have some really adorable, un-pink children's bedding... Image Attachment(s):

Good luck with the transition. We are on our 2nd week of big girl bed and for the most part it is ok with a day here and there of some night wakings. For the most part she likes sleeping in her bed and goes in no problem.
Let us know how it goes

Can I make a suggestion of skipping the bed rails?
First, their legs can get caught in it, which causes more problems then it's worth.
I would lay a pillow along side of them & the floor was cushioned if they did fall.
This is what we did. We also don't have a box spring on it right now since her bed doesn't have to have one, this way it's lower to the ground.
