Bedroom furniture

We need to revamp. Where did you get your furniture and would you recommend? Also, carpeting or wood floors in the bedroom?

Re: Bedroom furniture

We just did our bedroom this summer
We got rid of the carpets as they were gross. I am on a slab so we can't do full hardwood it has to be engineered hard wood (which i have in my main part of the house) or some kind of laminate/vinyl etc

We went to Floor and Décor and the floor I fell in love with on the display wall happened to be luxury vinyl. I wasn't sure about it so I did some research and turns out it is just as good if not better than engineered wood. I loved the look of the floor so much so we went with it and I am so glad we did. It looks and feels just like wood- you would never know if I didn't tell you. Plus it's waterproof, more scratch resistant more durable etc.

I have to say I feel it's so much cleaner with the hard floors, easy to vacuum and clean, no smells from the carpet, no stains on the carpet, no traffic marks over time etc.

As for the furniture I was turned off to matching sets. So we got a beautiful tufted headboard/bed at Raymour and then I did a dresser for me and a chest for DH that was part of a set but we were able to buy the pieces separately- also from Raymour.

I don't need a nightstand because I have a vanity where it would go and the nightstand that matched the dressers was too big so we got DH a cheapy nightstand on Wayfair.

It's all coordinated but nothing "matches" except the dresser and chest.

And I LOVE it all and how it came together

We have a tiny bedroom so space is limited as well so this route worked out best for us.

ETA- this is the bed we got.

And this is the dresser The chest is the same style as this.

That looks nice! We are going to go to Floor and Decor to check out flooring also. Portions of our room are are over the garage so I'm worried it's going to be cold but I like the look of the wood.

We ripped the carpet out of the bedrooms when we moved in because we like the look of hardwood. My daughter's room is over the garage and it gets cold there in the winter. I put an area rug in there to try and help insulate the floors some, but would recommend carpet in the room that is over the garage.

I have hardwood. Sometimes I think about putting an area rug down under the bed.

My bed is similar to Nell’s. I got my dressers and nightstands from wayfair and I have a big mirror that hangs on the wall over my dresser. I found it really hard to find dressers I liked. None of the furniture “matches” but it’s all coordinated. I don’t think anyone buys full sets anymore?

ETA we did vinyl plank in our old kitchen and I absolutely loved it. If it were up to me, I’d put it down in my current kitchen. We have hardwood in the kitchen and it’s scratched and horrible looking. I hate it.

We have hardwood in all our bedrooms. Original and still good. Carpet in living room only because of the dog and really wish we could rip it up.

Re: Bedroom furniture

Bedroom furniture we got from Ashley. The porter collection.
It’s a dark wood. Lots of storage. Still looks great after 10+ years.

Floors, Personally I like hardwood or vinyl. You can put a rug under the bed to still step off onto rug. I feel floors are easier to keep clean than rugs. Plus, I have dogs. Rugs get smelly really quick with dogs lol (especially big ones)

This is what I'm afraid of. I feel like it might be drafty in half the room. Thanks for sharing that.

Re: Bedroom furniture

When we got married we saved up and bought Stickley for our dresser and nightstands. We have ekorness side chairs, the headboard is some tufted fabric thing from wayfair for less than 200 that I got last year. It replaced an old one from when we got married. We replaced the headboard when we got a new mattress after 16 years of marriage. We went with a tempurpedic with lift this time and it is very nice. No more aches in my back or neck. The side table was custom from our last home, but it fits in well.

Re: Bedroom furniture

Costco!! Love their furniture. WE got their Bob type adjustable bed, Costco upholstered headboard, and Costco nightstands. We get compliments all the time. Even the bedding is from Costco.
Between Costco and Wayfair we got a lot of great furniture.
