Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
What time do your DC go to bed around this age? I'm wondering if I'm putting her to bed too late (usually bottle is around 9:15-9:30) so she's sleeping around 10 or 10:15 pm. I'm just worried if I put her to bed earlier she'll be up even earlier!!!!

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
mine go down anyhwere from 8-9 pm...it has been later because of the transition to the crib, so it takes wahile to get them to sleep

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
my boys are 4 months. At 3 months they would go to sleep at around 8 pm and just wake up once to feed in the middle of the night. They still wake up once , but I think it is good to get them in bed by 8 pm. Dont worry that they wake up once for a feeding, Im now coming to the conclusion it is ok that they wake up once, and when they are ready to sleep all the way through the night, they will. The important thing is to get them in the routine and schedule of going to sleep at 8 pm

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
Well usually if my DD goes to sleep around 10 she won't get up to eat in the middle of the night. I cut out that feeding around 8 weeks old. Sometimes she'll get up if she gets out of her swaddle or if her tummy hurts, but she doesn't get up to eat. Which I think is a good thing! I just don't think she can go from 8 pm - 6 am without getting up to eat at 3 months- thats too early right?

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
Connor is 4 months old and goes to bed now around 10:00pm. He was going to bed around 11:00-11:30. I have noticed that the earlier he goes down the earlier he wants to eat in the morning. He's been getting a fussy cry around 9:30pm so I've been trying to give him his last bottle then, but then he's up to eat even earlier. It's just trial and error.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
I'm soooo jealous you guys! Since 2 months, Jack goes down around 11-12! If he falls asleep earlier (8-9) I have to dream feed around 11 for him to make it through the night, but he has a hard time going back to sleep. If I don't dream feed, he's up at 3am
so to answer your ?, Jack's 4 months. Goes to sleep around 11 and gets up around 7

I think for now that is a good time - Michael was taking a bottle between 8:30-9 at that age so it's pretty close to what you're doing.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
DS is 3 1/2 months and goes to be around 9 - 9:30 while drinking his last bottle. He was waking up between 5:30 - 6:00 but the last few nights he woke up between 4 & 5. I am thinking he might be teething b/c sometimes he isn’t finishing his bottles. He never wakes up crying though. I just hear him moving and grunting. So I give him the pacifier and I can hold him off another hour for when I have to get up for work.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
Ryan is just shy of 5 months. Since 3 months he's gone to bed at 7. At first with a 10PM dream feed, but we don't do that anymore. He'll sleep through (ahem, USED to sleep through) until around 6am...now he's up anywhere from 4-7am and may or may not fall back asleep.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
DD is almost 5mths now. At 3mths her bedtime was 10:30-11 then it was 10ish now we put her to bed around 9:30 with her waking up around 4 for a quick feed then she sleeps til 9am. Any attmepts to put her to bed earlier than that and she confuses it with a nap and will be up in an hour Besides Dh and I are both not morning people so we prefer she sleep later in the morning.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
DD is three months and we do her last feeding at 11-11:30. She will then sleep until about 8-8:30. Every once in a blue she will sleep later. I also find that she will fuss in her sleep every now and then but if I give her the pacifier it is not a problem.

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
SO I guess I am doing this right. When she gets cranky, even if it's 7:30 or 8 pm, I put her in her crib and she'll sometimes sleep for about 30-40 minutes. When she gets up I put the pacifier in, and do this till about 9:15. If she doesn't wake up, I wait till whenever she does, then feed her and put her back to sleep for the night.
So this sounds okay?

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
Luca will be 12 weeks tomorrow and we try to put him down between 10-11. And even putting him down late doesn't get him through the night. He still wakes anywhere from 2-5 times. It's killing me!

Re: Bedtime for 3-4 month olds?
WOW! I really need to start putting DS down earlier! I try to bring him up to change into jammies and do last feeding around 10 - 10:30. I have been trying to make it a little earlier each night so we will have to see how that goes. I dream feed him at 4:45AM before I leave for work and then he sleeps to (anywhere from) 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM!
Like the OP, I work so my evenings with him are very precious. I'm a bit selfish in that I would rather he be up with me in the evenings and sleep later in the mornings with the nanny.
