Bedwetting in the morning
DS has been potty trained for about a year (since he was 2.5)
He goes without being reminded, is fine throughout nap (2-3hr naps), is 100% self sufficient in the bathroom, and has made several long car trips with us (4hrs+) w/o having an accident (he told us he needed to go and was able to hold it until we made it to a rest stop)...
Anyways- bedtime was our hardest fish to fry since he had a milk cup before bed each night- we stayed with pull ups at night for a little bit...
Well- we eliminated the night time milky cup, and for the most part have no accidents... It seems the only accidents we do have happen very early in the morning (like 5am)...
How do I stop this? I can control his fluid intake, I hear him at night sometimes go to the bathroom, he ALWAYS goes several times the hour leading up to bed time...
Its like its his deepest sleep, and doesnt feel the urge to go...
Waking him up, really isnt an option because he would be BEASTLY...
He goes to bed between 7-8 and makes it all night... this morning I checked him at 5:15 dry- at 5:30, he peed the bed WTH???

Re: Bedwetting in the morning
I think you are right...it is probably a deep sleep thing...
The good news is, you are pinpointing when it happens...
DD is going through the same thing (she is 4 though)...bedwetting in the middle of the night.
Some people think she is regressing because of the new baby. It happens in the middle of the night, around 1 am, and I'm so tired that I just rip the sheets off her bed, put new pants on her and throw her in my bed.
What I've been doing the past couple of nights is limit her fluids, make her go potty at least 2 times before bed, and literally "wake" her at around 12 am to put her on the potty (she pees every time). She's not really awake though...
I would say just pick him up while he's sleeping and put him on the potty - he's sure to go...and if he's still in a deep sleep, he'll go right back to bed...it may be the only way. I feel like it's conditioning them to wake up on their own eventually at the time when they have to go...
