been a crazy week... long...

I've been sort of MIA.
it was Maddie's 6 month mark and she got her first illness- lucky us! Happy 1/2 year birthday to you Maddie.
She started running a temp last Saturday (not this past weekend- weekend previously).. Last Monday DH took her to the doc and they didn't see any sign of infection in her ears and said it could be a virus- but sent her home w/ a urine bag on to get a sample....
Wed she still had a fever so I took her to the doc- and lo & behold- ear infection .. I wondered aloud how she can on Monday have no sign and Wednesday have a sign- and they said it could happen that fast.
they tested the urine in the office and there were white blood cells there- but the doc thought it could be that the sample was from Monday..
So- we had to get another sample- and that took FOUR HOURS...
the first bag disconnected and the urine spilled in the diaper so we had to try again. by that time, I had to give DD a bottle- thank god the doctor had formula there! He had the little nursettes and DD drink 2 of them right down- and peed right away..
They tested the fresh urine- and white blood cells again- so they had to send it out for the culture.
Culture came back today- and no UTI- which is great b/c now she doesn't need to get a sonogram- but I still have no idea why she had them in her urine in the 1st place!
