Cooperstown is not too far from Albany and Howe Caverns, those are some things you can do. Cooperstown itself is a very small town with nothing in it besides the baseball hall of fame.

its a quaint little town, nice to walk around on a summer day, but nothing else to do besides the hall of fame.

I posted in your travel thread:
I think that Saratoga Springs is only about a 40 minutes drive from Cooperstown. That would be fun - go to one of the horse races.

Yes, thank you! Mapquest said 1 hour 42 mins from Saratoga, but it would be worth it...Gotta do something for me on the trip, and I love Saratoga!

I love my DH so much I am planning a trip to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame he has been dying to visit!
Is there anything else interesting to do around there, or on the way? Recommendations for places to stay or eat?
You could definitely make a weekend out of it... pick a weekend where there is something going on in the town.
Check this out (If you FH is a real baseball fan, he'll love this)..

This is a great idea, except my brother and his GF have been trying to get a room for months. It's sold out within a 50-100 mile radius!

Re: Been to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame?
Cooperstown has a lot of shops and restaurants. There is a lake there that is nice to drive around.
Hall of Fame weekend is super crowded. So beware of that.
