Before School Starts: Attire?
From next week till school starts there are a bunch of days that I have to go to the school....I'm not sure how to dress. Here are the scenerios
1) CPR/First Aid Course For Coaches
2) Meeting w/ Athletic Director
3) Meeting w/ the other bus teacher to show me room and get me books/start planning. Also this day I probably will have to go fill out payroll and benefit forms at DO.
4) New Teacher Orientation (2 days)
Is it normal to get dressed up? Casual? Thanks.

Re: Before School Starts: Attire?
I would dress business casual, no heels though! I remember my first day with the BOE I wore dress pants and heels, and I had to move furniture and set up my room--- I felt so silly!!!

Here are some suggestions 1. CPR/First aid course I would wear capris and a nice top (more casual because you are taking a CPR course you will be sitting on the floor at some point.
2. Meeting with AD I would wear something nicer- nice capris and top and shoes or skirt or dress
3. Meeting with other teacher is informal so I would go casual. Casual capris and top especially since you are going to go to your room.
4. New teacher orientation, I would wear something a little nicer than #3 like nicer capris and a top. Sandals are fine but make sure they are comfy.

Re: Before School Starts: Attire?
funny when I had new teacher orientation the first year everyone was dressed up, I wore a skirt (never usually wear) and a button down, men came in suits and ties...the next day we were all in casual, it was not that formal...definitly think capri and nice top is good enough! GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!! Smile!!

Re: Before School Starts: Attire?
my district requires you to dress up for new teacher meetings. one of the administrators actually yelled at everyone for being too casual a few years ago!
try to find out from someone in your district what they expect
