Behavioral Therapist Recommendation? Suffolk
I am having some serious issues with one of my sons,,, Hitting me spitting at me just things that are 100% unacceptible.. I am definetly into dicipling more than my husband but I honestly have tried everything I just dont know what to do anymore. I have made the decision to seek a 3rd opinion and see a therapist to see if there is an underlying issue or how to proceed.. I just feel like I have tried everything time out rewards everything and have not gotten anywhere and I always stick to my punishments, Just looking to see if anyone knows of a behavioral therapist in the suffolk area. Thanks

Re: Behavioral Therapist Recommendation? Suffolk
How old is he? Call Suffolk County Department of health, Early intervention (if he is 3 years or younger) or have him evaluated through the school district (CPSE). I work for an Agency and Andrew Vaughan performs our evaluations. He is a wonderful Child Psychologist. He evaluates behavioral concerns as well as Autistic concerns. Good Luck!

Re: Behavioral Therapist Recommendation? Suffolk
Thanks ladies.. He was evaluated for EI when he was 2 for unrelated speech and OT.. He qualified for both but passed his psych eval. Then when he began getting services through the district he got speech till he was 3 then just completed his OT last week and no longer qualifies. To be honest I do not think its autism I just feel like Im lost and dont know how to help him.. He is such a bright boy and can be so loving but he is also very demanding, and often defies authority and I honestly feel like I need supernanny to come in and show me how to handle his agressive behavior. I am pretty strict and my other 3 I have normal typical toddler behavior but my oldest just pushes a bit too far. He talks back he has hit me and once ONLY ONCE spit at me. Just things I would NEVER expect from my kids, I just want to enforce a new discipline system and kind of want help from a professonial and honestly dont know who to see or where to begin. Thanks for your help ladies..
