Bellmore Merrick Pediatrics

Anyone use them, what do you like and not like about them...
Also any others that are associated with North Shore around that area, they seem to be the only ones...


I'm used to going to a two Dr practice and I love it that DD knows them and they really know her bc she mainly only sees the same ped every single time, and I know Bellmore Merrick has like four or five peds....

we love the practice.

we use Jonathan Jassey for DS (he deals with ASD children & typicals)

we used Emmet for DD but she left the practice, so we will be using Jonathan for both kids now.

for sick visits we use whoever is available and the PA are great as well.

I switched to them - this is my 3rd ped and LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Them!!! We have seen A lot of the drs. but for well visits generally see dr. J. Jassey. I love their hours!!!! Last weekend DS woke up at 3 am yelling "belly hurt". I called and left a message and they called me back in an hour - told me what to do and had me come in on Sunday at 10 am (the next day). Ended up DS had strep! I also love Dr. Schwartz Cohen (I think that is her name). The PA is great too! I love that they do bloodwork there too! The first time I ended up waiting a while and was ready to switch and it was a total mistake and I haven't had a problem since. Dr. Jassey also found a problem with DS that 2 previous peds had missed!!!!! Just to let you know, they also always ask me who I want to see so you can always see the same dr.(unless u need to get them in quick I guess).

There are A LOT of us on here who us them, me being one of them. And I'm another EXTREMELY HAPPY mommy because of them.

There are 8 doctors I believe and a few PA's. I have seen 2 PA's and they are incredibly nice. We mainly see Dr J. Jassey and I couldn't be more satisfied with his, the office, etc. I have never had a problem getting an appt, even last minute.

They are open 7 days a week, and what makes me happy is how they are all about their patients. He always tells me to let them worry, if something comes up in the middle of the night, call the line. They have a CBC machine on site, conduct vision checks, do heart screenings at 6yo(testing for abnormalities that has led to so many kids just dropping dead on the playing field) and they are one of only a FEW offices that do that.

They are affiliated with LIJ and I believe Winthrop.

If you choose them you will NOT be disappointed. PROMISE.

I live in NJ but can totally vouch that Dr. Jassey is an amazing dr. I started to see him myself, just as I was getting too old for a pediatrician and he was first starting out with another dr. He's a wonderful doctor and my younger brothers sometimes still see him for a sick visit if they can't get in to their regular drs. My mom still calls him when I have questions about my DD's because we trust him that much - and even though I'm no longer a patient, and my kids aren't his patients he always calls my mom back and gives his opinion. Love him!
