We went to Barbados last year and loved it. We've been to all inclusives in Jamaica and DR as a frame of reference.

Re: Best all inclusive for adults!
We stayed at The Waves. We went for a long weekend and booked one of the duplex rooms- bedroom and bath on one level, lounge area and patio on the top. There is very little entertainment at he resort- absolutely nothing during the day, live entertainment most evenings. For DH and I, since we were only there for a few days to relax and reconnect it was perfect. I know we wold have gotten bored if we'd stayed longer. We thought the food for an all inclusiv was pretty good. Breakfast was buffet, but we're not huge breakfast eaters, so what they had was more then enough for us. Lunch was either buffet or the Asian restaurant. Then they had three restaurants for dinner- the Asian restaurant, Italian restaurant, and main restaurant.

Re: Best all inclusive for adults!
We stayed at Couples Swept Away in Jamaica and it was amazing. By far the best vacation we've ever taken. We will definitely be going back there!
I did a little review on this board: Check it out!

Re: Best all inclusive for adults!
we went to Jamaica in February, and stayed at The Jewel Dunn's River. I had never heard of it before, so I was a little nervous booking. But it got some awesome reviews on tripadvisor that I just went ahead with it. LOVED it!! i thnk its an old Sandals that was redone. Everything is so nice and clean and well-kept. its a smaller resort, i think only 200 rooms or something. So it was nie because there was never a problem finding chairs on the beach or by the pool. Food was good- they had 3 or 4 restaurants to pick from at night for dinner. Plus a grill, and an awesome brick oven pizza place for lunch. One night, they did "Dinner on the Pier" for the whole resort... it was like a 7 or 8 course dinner outside- almost like a wedding. Very nice!! The nighttime entertainment was good- there were a few bars to hang out in. One night they had a bonfire with fire dancers, snake charmers, etc. One night they had a "Dive in Movie" where they put a big inflatable screen in the pool and showed a movie. One night they had an AWESOME steel drum band play. The staff is what really made it though. Everybody just had a "we'll spoil you" attitude one of them even climbed up a tree to get us a coconut and opened it for us so we could have fresh coconut milk This is our first AI experience, so I don't have anything to compare it to... but we had an awesome time!

Any of the Excellence Resorts! There's two in Mexico and one in DR. All three are so nice! I would go back to any of them.

Re: Best all inclusive for adults!
Excellence in DR, bar none. I am sure their other locations are just as good.
And to comment on a PP, DH and I went to Jewel Dunn's River in Jamaica last summer and had a horrible time. The pools had bird poop in them, we were woken up every morning at 5 am to music from the kitchen. The level of service was no where near what we received at Excellence. Several complains to management went unanswered and when we asked for compensation when we checked out the manager said we should have complained sooner. Um, we did, ever morning!
We've compared every vacation we've been on since, to Excellence and nothing compares.

Thanks everyone! I have chosen Jamaica now it's a toss up of couples nigrel or swept away. Went to TA got prices and there is only a small $difference between the 2!!now I need to make a decision of which one! LOL. and DH is not helping

Re: Best all inclusive for adults!
Those are both great resorts. When I was choosing between the Sandals resorts it came down to which one had the room category I liked
