best formula for spit up??
I just started supplementing with Similac (ped recommended), but DD is spitting up more than usual. She always spit up a bit, but now it's out of control. No other problems like gas or gagging or anything, just tons & tons of spit up. She gets 1-2 bottles a day (about 5 oz. each) & is 4 1/2 months old.
I'll call the ped tomorrow but wanted to get feedback from the BTDT moms. I know there were a lot of recs for the question the other day about the baby on formula with digestion problems.
Thanks!

Re: best formula for spit up??
My DD is on similac and spits up as well, but she doesn't seem to be in any pain from it- i was going to bring it up to the doc as well & see what he says.

Re: best formula for spit up??
DS had a lactose intolerance issue for first few months. We had to switch him to soy-based formula for a while. No lactose issues now, and Dr told us it's not uncommon for infants to have lactose issues, then outgrow them in a few months.
Our neice had a lactose allergy as an infant, which is worse than just intolerance, but avoidable with soy formula. She's fine now, too.

Re: best formula for spit up??
DS was on BM and then I went to formula. When I made the switch to regular similac he seemed fussy so the ped that I used at the time said to use soy and I did. He still spit up but I noticed at about 6 weeks that it got worse and I tried 2 other forumals including nutramingen and still got the same outcome. Finally I went to Enfamil A.R. which is a milk based formula with rice starches in it. It is very thick and the spitting up went back to normal and now it is less. If he isn't fussy from gas or anything then I dont really think that Nurtimagin will help, although Icould be wrong.

Re: best formula for spit up??
Thanks for the feedback. I'm inclined to stay on the similac & deal with the spit up because the ped. said that it's closest to breastmilk & I am still nursing. I don't want the taste/consistency to be too different for DD because I want her to be able to go back and forth.
I am constantly covered in spit up! It's everywhere!

Re: best formula for spit up??
DD did really well on Gentlease but I don't know if that's because she was going out of the spitting up stage when we finally tried it or it actually helped. I know if I have another spitty baby next time I'm going to try this.
