I try and take notes throughout the year based on what people complain about, dream about or seem to enjoy.
I also usually get my parents experience based gifts but that’s really hard this year.
My personal list:
Comfy robe
New snow boots
Expensive makeup I feel too guilty buying the rest of the year
Some of the better gifts I’ve given
Customized corn hole set
Personalized Etsy stuff. I had a little house made that looked like the one I grew up in that my parents sold.
An NFL recliner chair cover for my dad (he uses it daily)
Puzzle of my kids for my mom
Weekend getaways -hotel, activity and restaurant gift cards

My favorite gift last year was my ugg slippers. Love them! I made a canvas of all the grandkids for my parents and they loved that!

My husband got me NKOTB tix one year but Covid put a damper on those kinds of gifts. I really enjoy hand made gifts from etsy

Usually vacations or spa visits. I am having a super tough time coming up with gift ideas for anyone.
Last year I got a heated massage full body mat. Its been so wonderful.

Given : custom cufflinks with his monogram.
He was shocked and teared up. And hes usually dead inside 
Received: having an Elvis impersonator show up at my birthday dinner with friends and sing to me.
I'm a huge Elvis fan and may have actually cried a little
