Best help for early pregnancy constipation
Please help! I'm so uncomfortable and my regular gummies + metamucil aren't doing a thing!! What can I safely take?

Best help for early pregnancy constipation
It's the zofran. I would go weeks at a time with nothing. Colace made me feel awful.
I eat a bowl of frosted mini wheats, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water in the morning. It's the ONLY thing that helps. It's still not great, but much better than before. I'm still on the zofran, so I feel your pain!

I picked up the Colace yesterday, and have been cutting back on my Zofran. Hopefully that helps. I drink a ton of water normally, and I do eat lots of fruit/veggies, and I've been taking metamucil and fiber gummies, but its still like concrete in there. Somethings gotta give soon, b/c I look like I'm showing and I know its all poop and no baby.

Best help for early pregnancy constipation
I took 2-3 Colace pills every day from about 17 weeks right up until I delivered. Checked with my OB who said that it was safe and that if its what gave me relief, to continue taking them. I also recommend bringing a bottle with you to the hospital for post-delivery. The hospital has them but since they are considered a "controlled substance" the nurses were a bit stingy with them -- gave me 1 pill at a time with hours between. I was like "Ladies, I popped this things like candy throughout my pregnancy -- give me more!"

Maybe give it a few more days since you just cut out the Zofran and started taking the colate/metamucil. Also, keep in mind that too much fiber can back you up too.
MY DH didn't go to the bathroom for 10 days after he had surgery. His last resort was an enema. He said he felt like a million bucks after he did it lol. If you're that uncomfortable maybe check and see if it's safe to do one?

Uggh thats terrifying! I'll ask my OB next week... but hopefully there's some movement on the front lines before then.

Try to go for a long walk this evening. It's really nice out. Sometimes that's the only thing that got me moving.

MIRALAX!!! Was told by my ob/gyn that it was safe- only stays in the intestines and does not cross into the placenta.

I suffered with that so bad in the beginning I ended up with 2 hemmariods and a fissure! Be very careful! My magic mix was a dose of Milk of Magnesia before bed and 2 100Mg pills of colace each morning. It justs started beck up for me again at 34 weeks! It SUCKS sooooooo bad!
