Best island in Hawaii with small kids?
In laws are thinking of taking the whole family next August, a lot of the grandkids will be under 8. TIA!

Best island in Hawaii with small kids?
I'd say the best island for kids is Oahu or Maui. On Oahu you have Pearl Harbor and Diamondhead in addition to the beaches and water activities. Oahu, especially Waikiki can be a little "cityish" for my taste but I still had a great time there. I prefer Maui because it feels more like Hawaii to me.

Oahu. Aside from the beach, there's the pineapple factory, the Polynesian cultural center, Pearl Harbor, Iolani Palace just to name a few. There's also a small zoo. Maui would be second runner up

I've only been to Maui. If you do decide to go there I would recommend Baby Beach in LaHaina. The ocean is split by a reef which makes it extremely shallow and very calm - perfect for little ones!

we took our twin 7 month olds and a 2.5 year old to maui - we stayed at the mariott ocean club - the water was very calm there - they has a bunch of kids activites - they had a pirate ship in one pool and a couple of slides - it is one o f mariott time share properties so we had a 2 bedroom condo with a full kitchen. very nice plus there were grills to barbeque

Oahu or the big island (aka Hawaii) the Hilton waikaloa village is VERY CHILD FRIENDLY. Oahu is my fav island there is soooo much to do and see. I've been to all the islands multiple times, so please feel free to fm me questions. I personally don't enjoy Maui as much as other islands for a few reasons. There are certain things I wouldn't do with kids so like I said feel free to fm

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu when DS was 14 months old. It's very kid friendly, really nice pool area for kids too. He enjoyed the Pineapple Factory and the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Disney has a timeshare...Aulani...it's on the island of Oahu. I would look into trying to rent a unit in this, as they have tons of kids activities and pools. I'm a DVC member, but that's not my home resort. Check the Disboards for possible rentals.
