Best Laminate Floor Brand??
Danielle and I are looking at flooring for the downstairs of our home and we are thinking about Wilson Art Laminate. What are some other really good brands?

My in-laws just put that in their basement and like it so far. We are thinking of using it in the "bar" side of our den too.

I don't recall what brand we used in our basement, but one thing I recall from our research is that they all came in different weights/thicknesses and the thicker you can afford, the better. Since ours was for a basement that would not get a lot of heavy wear and tear we went with something on the lighter side so it didn't break the budget. I'm not unhappy with it, but it doesn't have a completely solid feel to it like some I've seen. I would have preferred to go with a heavier weight but not for the extra $$$. We also went with the heavier, higher quality underlaying material which was worthwhile. I would recommend going for the heavier weight if it's in the budget.

We used a Mohawk engineered floor but they have laminate too. I would go look at LI Paneling. They have a ton to look at the the staff was great in helping me pick the right one.

Honestly.. I have used laminate floors from lowes and home depot and then used the brand that Sams club sells for my dining room and the baby's room and the sams club floor was BY FAR my favorite. It just feels and looks so much nicer IMO.

we priced out alot of laminate floors and liked pergo the best (we know NOTHING about floors) anyway we were in home depot yesterday and they have oak wood flooring for $0.02 more a sq foot then the pergo, its more work to put it in but we'd rather have real wood floors. maybe this is an option for you? just throwing it out there if your interested
