Best month to have a baby
I know this has been asked before but I cannot find the thread so in your opinioin moms what is the best month to have a baby and why?
My dd was born in Feb and I actually enjoyed that time as the winter was mild - 2006 so we were pretty much out walking at the beginning of March. I am thinking #2 might be born end of sep / beginning of oct next year if all goes according to plan but wonder is this a good time with winter approaching etc.
TIA

Re: Best month to have a baby
I think the best month to have a baby is the month they arrive...
Ours are both in May. Weather was nice enough to be outside (DS had jaundice, so he needed some sunlight). DW wasn't pregnant during the hottest days of summer. Due date was months away from a possible blizzard. Both DC will have the entire school year to make friends and plans for their b-day parties, and still be before final exams. No major holidays to share with.

Re: Best month to have a baby
Every month is probably fine..my girls were due April 29th and i thought April, may or june would be good months because you can have outside parties for their B-days..i ended up having them early Feb 13th it was still ok but i have to have their parties at a place instead of in my home.

Re: Best month to have a baby
Andrew was born in May and I would love to have another baby around that time. I took the entire summer off and it was great!! We could get out for walks and I went out east to visit my parent's all the time.

Both mine are May too (the 6th and 9th). ITA. they weren't planned, but if a 3rd is, I'd go for a 3-peat in May

Re: Best month to have a baby
I had Jack at the end of June (even though it was supposed to be mid June) and I think this was a great time for us. DH is off from school and got to spend alot of time with him.
Next time around I will aim for either end of April, May, or June again. I don't like being preggo in the hot hot summer. June was hot enough for me at 9 months.

Re: Best month to have a baby
I had Steven in November, and the weather was really mild. So I was able to get some walks in there before the weather got real cold. I don't highly recommend it since it's a PITA with a small baby and it being so cold out. However, I can't imagine having a baby in the summer with it being so hot and having the AC on all the time and all that stuff.
My next I will try to plan for an early September, so when I am on leave it will still be nice enough to go out and by the time it gets too cold, the baby will be a little older so it's easier.

Re: Best month to have a baby
I'm gonna have to say April. DS was born in April and it was perfect for the chilly weather to end while we were int he house and had no intention of trying to go out while he was little...but I could have the shades up all day and it was nice and sunny in the house, not dark and dreary by 5. Then, when we were ready to start taking walks and heading out to the store, I didn't worry about having to bundle him up and bad weather and it's been gorgeous. Now, when the holidays come, he won't be such a peanut and he'll be more fun and have some understanding of seeing the family together and being able to actively play with them.

Re: Best month to have a baby
I had Jared in June and it was great to get out and take him for walks. But I was pretty depressed not being able to fit into my cute summer clothing. Next time I'm trying for October and then I'll have the whole winter to get back into shape.

Re: Best month to have a baby
My only thought on it was as long as it was during the school year. I loved bringing in cupcakes, seeing my friends at school on my birthday, getting my locker decorated, etc.
I have a September & June babies. One I went through the summer pregnant (which was fine because it was hot as anything & I stayed in airconditioning); the other I went through summer with a newborn.
With both birthdays, you can plan an outdoor party but always need a backup plan in case it rains (or if you have a huge house). With winter parties, you know you need an indoor place & you need to be a little more creative.

Re: Best month to have a baby
I like that DS b-day is in October. I love the time of year. Next time I will probably try to time it for a June/early July baby just for work reasons. The only thing that will suk about that is I will still be carrying a lot of baby weight in the summer, whereas having him in Oct. gave me enough time to be bikini ready.

Re: Best month to have a baby
Taylor was born in the beginning of March. For me, it was great, I began the pregnancy in the beginning of the summer, the winter wasnt that bad, except for a few days here and there. We were able to start taking her for walks soon after she was born because the weather was nice

I had my son in April and I thought that was a great time. The weather was nice while I was on maternity leave and I could go out and take walks.

Re: Best month to have a baby
I think a good time would be April-June. It's not too cold nor to hot and you could do outside parties. I have one child in April which I like however my other two are Dec & Feb way to cold to do outside parties.

No major holidays to share with. I m biased since DS was also May, but ITA with this. We had no major weather issues to deal with, and I was barely able to handle the 2 days of 80+ degree weather in my last month. I told DH if (and that's a huge if) we decide to TTC again I'd like it to be with an anticipated DD of Apr- Jun.

Same for me. DS was born at the end of June. End of May/Eary June would be perfect for #2.

I wouldn't care what month. Whatever month he or she wants to be born sounds good.
