is the whole "poisonous to animals" thing true? you know its amazing! people have been mopping their floors for many many years (I would hope lol). lets assume that at least some of these people have pets. how many have pets who died from the detergent used to wash their floors?
I'm sorry - I just think it's funny

Re: best mop
I bet that dogs lick many things (aside from their own body parts ). I am sure that some of the other stuff they come in contact with can harm them more than soap.

Re: best mop
thanks for the proof. I will have to show it to her so we can get the swiffer back in the house.
and my dog would lick a tree if I let him. I dont think the swiffer will damage him.

Re: best mop
thanks girls, but I do already use the swiffer and also use the swiffer wet.
Honestly they don't do the full deep clean that is needed on floors. they are good for in between jobs..
I guess I meant an ol' fashioned mop with bucket - LOL

Tried them all and prefer the swifer the best.

I'm with you - though I haven't tried the Swiffer Wet Jet.
I like the one's that are like big sponges and have either a scrubber or brush on one end for stubborn spots...and I can squeeze the mop with one quick motion (does that make sense ). Don't remember what brand it was...but I am in need of a new mop sponge. I really dislike those traditional mophead's - with the white strings?? - wringing it skeeves me.

That's funny...because I think that gives a MUCH better cleaning than mops - sponge or stringy things. I find those just put more dirt on the floor...from the dirty water.
Granted...I have to use several pads to make sure it's clean, but I'm a little skitzo!

Re: best mop
I'm convinced there is no best mop. A fortune could be made on a good mop! I use the swiffer wet thing but a scrub brush on my hands and knees for a thorough cleaning. I wish there was a better alternative.

I bought what I use now at either Walmart or Target. can't remmeber. it's got a green handle and the mop part of it is orange. I think it works well because it's frayed, not 1 solid piece, so it gets under the fridge, stove, etc
