Best Nursing Bottles?
For those of you who nursed or are nursing, what are the best bottles to use? Are those Dr. Brown's bottles really better than the others for gas?
TIA!

My Friend SWEARS by Dr. Brown's. She used Playtex for her DD & then switched when she had her DS. She told me that Dr. Brown's are way better. She has a cleaner thingy for them.

Re: Best Nursing Bottles?
I don't think there is a best bottle. Each baby likes different bottles. My daughter refused every bottle except the Playtex nurser, wide nipple, silicone. My neice refused all nipples except the orthopedic nipple.
Personally I love the Playtex system with drop in liners so I am glad Molly took to them. And the truth is that not one bottle is "most like a breast" because they flow totally different and require different suckling from the baby.
So if you need bottles I would get a small kit of 2 different ones and see what works best for your baby then purchase more.

that is exactly what I did- i got the Dr. Brown's and the Avent bottles- so far DD is OK with the Avent- but if we need to break out the Dr. Browns we have them.

He only took the Dr. Brown's regular nipple when was younger. Now he will drink the wide neck or the regular.

Re: Best Nursing Bottles?
If you want a bottle thats "like" the breast, I would advise choosing one with a short nipple...I mean, what woman has nipples like a Avent or Dr Browns one?? In the UK we have these closer to nature ones, but I don't know if you can get them in the states.
I like Dr Browns, they aren't really such a pain to clean, not if you have a husband! And you can just throw them in the dishwasher... Image Attachment(s):

I nurse and give DD Dr. Browns. I bought 3- one Playtex, Avent and Dr. Browns. She liked the Dr. Browns best. At 7 months old she is still switching from breast to bottle easily. In fact, except for peas, she'll eat anythnig offerred to her.

Re: Best Nursing Bottles?
we were happy with avent - if there were gas issues, I probably would have switched to DBs
