Re: Best one to choose?
I can only say stay away from SanRoman...you will be lucky if you see him at the consultation and never see him again.
I am using Dr. Brenner's clinic, but have never met him.
I don't really know about the other RE.

I am the minority. I like Dr San Roman and Dr Stelling, both in the Stony Brook office. I got pregnant on my 3rd IUI. I like the nurses there too.
If you have any questions, you can FM me.

I agree, I know we are in the minority.. I have had positive experiences with both San Roman, Stelling and Sung . I have also seen San Roman more than once. Everyone in the office has been very kind and helpful... I just finished my 1st IUI, done by Sung. I would recommend them..

Re: Best one to choose?
I don't have experience with any of them myself. But I have 3 friends who used San Roman (in the StonyBrook office) and all were successful. In fact one is now pregnant w/TRIPLETS! Don't know if that will scare you away or not!. And a 4th friend is using him right now.
Good luck in you decision.

Re: Best one to choose?
Let me clarify why I didn't recommend SanRoman. I went there for eight IUI cycles and didn't get PG. One of the cycles I had 18 follicles and they did the IUI anyway. I asked twice about an HSG to check my tubes and they told me it wasn't necessary as I only had PCOS. When I went to Dr. Kenigsberg, he asked me at the consultation if I had had an HSG and since I hadn't, he did one. Turns out both my tubes are blocked, no amount of IUI's would have gotten me PG.
If you only need IUI and you don't have any major complications, RSofNY can get you PG, I know of a few people who have been successful there. But, if it gets at all complicated, I don't recommend them because they tend to gloss over a lot of stuff.

Re: Best one to choose?
Just a lurker but I did consult with SanRoman, a few years ago but didn't get pregnant that way. While I liked him, I have many friends who have had varying degrees of IF and they echo the sentiments of the above posters, that the group as a whole is fine for IUI, but anything more complicated and its time to move on.
HTH.

Re: Best one to choose?
Just an FYI, I go to Lydic. He is a specialist in PCOS so if you have that he may be good fro you. Their scheduling is pretty crappy so if you need to work around a job or something they might not be who you need to see. For instance I have had to leave work with no notice to get sonograms or go to an appointment. he is a very "by the book" Dr IMO and not really an out of the box thinker.

I had a very similar experience with SanRoman. He never did the HSG and 1st month after I had it done I got a BFP. I did NUMEROUS IUI's with him as well. And I only saw him maybe 2x in a year.
Dont know anything else about the other 2 drs.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Should a HSG before moving on to IUIs, or only after failed IUIs?

Re: Best one to choose?
HSG should be done before both iUi and IVf. HSG will determine whether or not your tubes are blocked.

With what I know now, I would have requested it from the very beginning.
Good Luck!

If you don't have the HSG done before IUI's, you won't know if the IUI's are going to work or not. It should be one of the first tests your RE does.
I know this now, I didn't know it two years ago and that is a lot of wasted time.

Re: Best one to choose?
Just to put my two cents in, I go to Dr. Lydic, and am now pregnant after 3rd IUI.
If I had it to do over again, I would have stuck with Dr. Bronson in that same office, he was so great every time I saw him. They do specialize in PCOS though, and do many studies related to it, to improve their methods all the time.
GOOD LUCK!

AGREED! I wasted over a year with SanRoman and once I switched RE's it was the 1st thing they did.
