Best place to look for rentals?
My sister, BIL, and niece are moving out (omg YAYYYY sanity finally lol) and are looking for a new place to rent. They would like to stay in Amityville Village/South Amityville near us but are open to Amity Harbor, Lindenhurst and Babylon Village. Does anyone know of an apartment to rent or where is the best place to look at rentals?

Re: Best place to look for rentals?
If they are looking to avoid paying a broker's fee (in the areas you mention, it's usually one month's rent), then I would have them look on Craig's list online and in local papers, such as the Pennysaver.
If they are willing to pay the fee, then they should contact a local real estate office, or several. Although all realtors have access to the rental listings on MLS, a lot of real estate companies keep rentals as exclusives (in other words, keep them in-house, so that outside agents at other offices can't show and rent them).
Craig's list is the biggest site for rentals. There are others, such as hotpads.com, but you will find mostly realtor listings on there, so if they don't want to pay a fee, Craig's list is probably the best bet online.
Have them contact me if I can help!
