hah - when I sold my car, I took it to the car wash to have it cleaned up before I took photos for craigslist and the gentleman that dried it ended up buying it, right then and there!

I once sold my car to car cash. Easy, painless and they gave me a fair price.

If I were looking to purchase, I have to say I'd go through a dealership that offered some sort of warranty on the car. (This probably makes me of no help to you!)
I've heard of lots of people selling cars on craigslist... Since I think the ads there are free, it can't hurt to try there!

i've had the most luck by just running 1 ad in the newsday.
i tried numerous ads on pennysaver and craigslist and got nothing. then i tried just 1 ad on newsday and got 10 calls the day it came out and someone came and bought it 2 days later.
