Beta blood work
Hi ladies, Im pretty sure i am out this cycle. Af is due on Monday. I had a beta done on 8dpo (this past monday) which came back BFN.
Just curious, and again, not looking for hope, but isnt that early anyway to determine pg in blood or is that about right?

Why did they do a beta 8 dpo? There may not even have been implantation at that point?

That sounds very early. Usually beta bloodwork is at least 14dpo.

why did they do a beta so early? my re won't do one until at least 14dpo. did they check progesterone too to make sure you ovulated?

I was at dr to have an internal to check on my cyst. Which was gone finally So i told him that although my cd21 test came back as no O, i did in fact O on cd26 bc i took a OPK and got a +. Plus i had all the symptoms. So he had to run blood for something else so he "through in" the beta just to see bc i told him that i did O and we did BD alot. It wasnt a planned beta.

I would consider this beta result unreliable at this point in your cycle. My RE won't do one until 14DPO.
