So I should get back my hcg levels today. Was anyone else very nervous? I just am praying everything is where it should be! I am only 4w4d today. When I took it I was 4weeks.
UPDATE: Got my results, they were 97. This was taken the day I turned 4 weeks. According tot he guidelines it does fall in range. Any thoughts???

Re: beta hcg today- UPDATE
That's a good # but it would be an increase that is really promising. Are you going back for repeat bloodwork within a few days?

right - the original number is good - however how it INCREASES over the next few days or week is what matters....
the number is supposed to double every 24 hours or so....

No, my doctor doesn't believe in repeating and trending the results unless there was a reason. I am going for my first sono in 2wks and if needed they would re-draw it then. I was told that they only trend the # if it is an IVF pregnancy, or history that warrants it. She told me ti sit tight until the sono at the high risk OB.

Sounds good. Most OB's DON'T do HCG numbers routinely for pregnancy. You tend to see a lot of HCG numbers on the board because of the women who see RE's or have a hx of past M/C or other complications...................

I am glad you said that. Bc I was going to call again tom and make sure I heard right bc it seems like everyone is saying they have to be trended. So 97 is good? For 4 wks?

97 is a good number for that time. Most likely your OB did the beta just to confirm the pregnancy other than using a urine test. Usually they don't even tell people the number they just say "yup you are PG"nad you think "Well DUH, I've take 20 PG tests!!!"
The numbers are really only important when using them as a comparison against another set. To check HCG rising levels blood is drawn 48 hours apart and they are looking for a 62%-65% increase...............
I wouldn't really think about it too much, just take it as teh PG being confirmed via bloodwork.
WHen you go for your US in 2 weeks you still may or may not see the HB....
A lot of OB's also don't do sonos until 8 weeks because there is no guarantee that everythign will be developed by then.
So try and relax, and enjoy the next few weeks, before the crazy symptoms start to appear

Re: beta hcg today- UPDATE
You sound like the "voice of reason" and I totally appreciate your calming words! I am very nervous (I tend to have that personality to begin with). I think the NP thought I was crazy for asking what the # was. All I kept thinking was that in LIF they always talk about betas!!!! My OB doesn't like to do the sonos either until 8 weeks but I also see a high risk OB and he was the one who said 6. So I will be exactly 6W 3 days. (I have a borderline clotting disorder as well as a + ANA so he wants to to check everything out. BUTTTT I know me and I will freak if they can't see the heartbeat!
Wish me luck. And thanks for all the advice!!!

No problem! I can understand why your High risk Ob wants to do a sono at 6 W with your blood clotting disorder. Just please don't panic if you don't see teh HB by then...remember your OB wouldn't have done one until 8 weeks
As long as you aren't profusely bleeding and cramping everythign should be going as planned. It's hard not to get worried or be anxious.
Just remmember that stress is not good for your bean and try and relax!
