better business bureau?

Let's say you had a business contract with someone that had a clause in it that in a nutshell barred you from saying anything negative about the person in any media/email/internet - etc?

Would filing a complaint with the better business bureau be considered the same thing?

Basically could this person sue the other person for slander if they called the BBB?

I don't think so as long as you kept it just facts in your complaint.

For example: I received a damaged item. When I called for an exchange I was told that they that they will not send anything new, just repair what was delivered. (I think is OK)

I received a damaged item. When I called, the customer service person was rude and said they said its not their problem and they can try fixing it. I hate them! I'll never buy again and hope they go out of business. Karma is a ***** buyer beware!!! (not ok)

Re: better business bureau?

Hmm...thats tricky b/c the BBB is kinda like a mediator. they will help solve the issue between you and said business.

if you have filed something with the BBB it will come up under that company if you search on the BBB"s website. but i dont think it gives specifics as to each complaint. It will just say "so and so business, x amount of complaints."

so im not sure if thats considered writing anything negative about them per the contract.

(which by the way, thats a crappy thing for a business to do. Makes me wonder what they are trying to hide.)

I agree.

I believe barring you from saying anything negative doesn't give up the right to have BBB mediate on your behalf.
