Better NICU for High Risk in NSUM or Wintrop?
Heard many great things about both, but which one would you pick for high rosk pregnancy? I am carrying twins, so a top notch NICU is a must
TIA

For my High Rick I delivered at LIJ. They are affiliated with Schnieders Childrens Hospital.

I would go with LIJ or North Shore Manhasset. I am high risk with triplets and going to North Shore to deliver.

My DD was not high risk, but the NICU at Winthrop was outstanding. I have no complaints at all.

My OB's practice is equidisdant from LIJ and NSUH and they choose LIJ b/c of Schneider's NICU. One should never need it. Abby needed it. The nursing there is top notch. I'd never have a baby anywhere else.

Re: Better NICU for High Risk in NSUM or Wintrop?
My SIL had twins prematurely on 3/11 at LIJ. She also chose the hospital because of Schnieders. The girls are still there and the care is absolutely amazing. I gave birth at LIJ, wasn't high-risk but wouldn't go anywhere else to give birth either because of Schnieders.
My SIL also has told me multiple stories of babies being brought to Schneiders while she was visiting from other hospitals. Friends I know as well who were high risk and DIDN'T use LIJ had their ob-gyns tell them that most likely the babies would be transferred there if anything were to happen......
