beyond frustrated
On top of dealing with the emotional stuff- which I'm not- I'm still having really bad cramping. It's been a week since my d & c and I went to the doc yesterday since he said I shouldn't be in this much pain by now.
The way he explained it, there is still tissue there and my body should be expelling it. I've barely bled since the d & c, so that leads me to believe that my body is still holding onto this tissue. So I'm just waiting and waiting for it to leave my body. No amount of Advil or percocet have given me any relief.
I just want it out!

Re: beyond frustrated
So sorry you are going through this!
Have you had a sonogram since the D and C? After my D and C, I had a lot of pain as well and eventually bled very very heavily with insanely large clots. It scared the crap out of me and I went to my dr who did a sonogram and said that I still had some tissue but it seemed to be mostly gone (I had passed most of it). The pain was actually contractions since my body was trying to get rid of what was left inside. The dr gave me some sort of medicine to take the next day if the pain continued and it would help me pass whatever else was in there. I ended up not needing to take it and was fine shortly after that.
I would request sonogram, you shouldn't be in pain

Re: beyond frustrated
That is beyond frustrating...the feeling of just wanting to move on from this and not being able to. I hope everything resloves itself asap

He didnt give me a sono yesterday and I am kicking myself for not asking for one. How long did it take you to bleed after your d&c?

Re: beyond frustrated
My d and c was on a friday morning and the bad bleeding and clots came on Wednesday night.
I really hope you feel better soon- I know it's hard to start healing emotionally when you are in pain.

Re: beyond frustrated
Hi girls - sorry if this is a dumb question but forgive me - I just had my first miss and a D&C a week ago. I didn't think there was anything to pass if you had a D&C? I didn't bleed at all until just yesterday and it's mostly brown spotting here and there...with mild cramping on and off. I knew to expect bleeding but you all are mentioning having a D&C and still having tissue to pass? I'm just confused b/c isn't that the purpose of the D&C - to have everything removed? I haven't gone for my follow up appt yet so I'm completely clueless until then....just confused after reading this.

I had no idea either. The way the ob (graphically) explained it was he said he didn't do any scraping, just suction. He said the reason why was because he didnt want to mess up my uterine lining. I guess, at 8 weeks, there wasnt much there to scrape.
I told my RE and he said I could come in monday for a sono if I still had pain.

I am so sorry you are going through this. It sounds like you should go for the sono on Monday. Is there anyway they would do the D&C procedure again? I know it's probably not ideal but maybe it would be faster than waiting for it to naturally happen?
Hoping you feel better soon.
