BF mommies... initial latching pain...

Curious as to how long you felt any tenderness or the toe curling initial latching pain.

I realize everyone is different and I've been told everything to it never hurts to it never stopped hurting.

With us, at 5 weeks, it still gets better every day. But I still do get sometimes an initial woo hoo first latch on zinger pain. DS is a pretty good latcher and gets a great feed and suck.

Just wondering if it's still an in our own time thing or are there any tips I could be doing to help?

I don't have tips, but I do remember thinking around 2 months 'Oh geez, when did it stop hurting?' And I couldn't remember when it hurt the last time.

I was just reading this and thinking.. Hmmm when did it stop hurting?

I can't tell you when but I am 11 weeks PP and it doesn't hurt anymore.

I don't use the lanolin cream since I have a wool allergy and since it is made from animal products.. it could aggravate my nips... AAAHH..

Soooo I use earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter. I got it at BRU. They have a whole line of products like tummy creams and stuff. But, the nipple butter is great. It is all natural plant based stuff and you don't have to wash it off before nursing.

It probably stopped hurting around 10 wks. But my case should be the exception and not the norm. ( I meet with an LC when DS was about 5 wks and she said that he had a slightly tight frenulem and a high palet and that was causing the pain for me. Once his mouth grew bigger, he grew out of it.)
