BF Moms - Medicine question
Hey ladies,
I am new to this board and new to mommyhood. I am so proud of my 5 day old baby.
For the first several days, I was on Vicodin because of several complications related to the delivery. My doctor advised against breastfeeding for the first few days because of the meds and because of my sons difficult delivery. Last night, my milk came in and I would like to try to breastfeed. Does anyone know how long it takes for the milk to be clear of the medicine? I will call the pediatrician this morning but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice first.

Re: BF Moms - Medicine question
Vicodin is classified as a moderately safe drug for BF'ing according tokellymom.com With all the pain killers out there I find it odd that your Dr would prescribe a painkiller without trying to accomodate your desire to bf.
BTW, congrats!
