I've been eating all of those. I was told that there are no real restrictions

Re: BF moms - what NOT to eat?
I think that when you are breastfeeding you would prefer a list about WHAT to eat and HOW MUCH. BF'ing makes a girl hungry!!! Kitkats were a personal favourite of mine...I am talking 3/4 a day. And I still lost weight!!!

Avoid the mercury fish (a good idea even if you aren't breastfeeding), caffeine, and alcohol.

Re: BF moms - what NOT to eat?
I was told that it depends on the baby- my DD is getting a lot of gas lately so I'm cutting back drastically on dairy & peanut butter- which makes me want to cry- I looove milk, yogurt & ice cream!

I would steer clear of fake sugars, alcohol, caffeine in moderation...

Re: BF moms - what NOT to eat?
I cut out dairy, most tomato products (ketchup is the only thing I would have), onions, citrus fruit and those high in vitamin C, and spicy foods. The lactation consultant I saw specifically mentioned going "dairy free" because my DD was extremely fussy and seemed almost colicky. Here are 2 websites that might help you.

That's what I say, plus like someone already mentioned you want to stay clear of fish high in mercuty, tuna being one of the main offenders.
I would stay aways from sushi all together while the baby is very young. After the the first 6-8 months I allowed myself an oocasional fresh salmon roll.
Drink, drink, drink that water and load up on calcium rich products!

Re: BF moms - what NOT to eat?
There wasn't anything on my list that was an absolute NO-NO, but I did notice that my daughter reacted very strongly to some of the items I ate - in particular, tomatoes, tomato sauce, legumes, beans, onions, garlic, and the worst culprit of them all - DAIRY.

Re: BF moms - what NOT to eat?
I ate anything I wanted when I was BF, and Julia never had a reaction to it. If you had to follow a list, it would drive you crazy!
