BF moms who are diary-free --- any probs with peanut butter?
So younger DS is 4.5 mos old I'm exclusively pumping. I'm dairy-free and we haven't really had any trouble since I've cut all dairy. This week we had a lot of changes --- I went back to work, DCs started daycare, and I added peanut butter to my diet.
Long story (in another post) short, we're pretty sure DS received another child's bottle at school and it was whole cow's milk (6oz). His allergy symptoms flared back up and we're attributing it to the wrong bottle.
But this AM I'm wondering if it's because I've added peanut butter to my diet -- I made toast with it every morning this week. Even though I ate this with both pregnancies and older DS is eating peanuts and pb w/o any trouble at 2 yrs old - could this be affecting the younger son at this point?
Any advice? I'm going to stop the pb for now, but does anyone know how long it would take DS to clear out the allergy from the whole milk bottle? Is it more than just a few days? TIA - I'm a worry wart and I'm really angry at my daycare this week (and feeling guilty for working, too).
ps: AF arrived the morning I went back to work, too. I'm a hormonal mess rt now.

First off it was not your fault that the daycare gave DC the wrong bottle. They should've been extra careful knowing there's a milk allergy. I know its hard not to feel guilty about working when something like this happens
OK as for peanut butter...My DD has a milk allergy also. When I looked at the PB I had at home one of the ingredients was soybean oil. Alot of children with milk allergies have sensitivity to soy as well so I didn't chance it.

DD #1 had a dairy allergy and I ate peanut butter with no issues. She has no issues with soy though.

I just realized today that I've been eating Pb&J sandwiches periodically while I was on maternity leave...Ds had no problems when I did that. SOO, the rxn DS is having right now must be from having received a milk bottle while at Daycare....
Thanks for the input, ladies - everyone here is always very helpful

I'm not dairy free, but my friend's DD has severe food allergies: peanuts, soy, dairy, egg, etc. She had no reactions to any of these while BFing. The reactions didn't happen until after she was introduced to these foods as solids.
