BFing and Bottles
My DD is a little over a month and I am BFing here. I have been giving her a bottle here and there when we are out so that she gets use to it for when I go back to work. I am just trying to find out how much everyone's DC drinks from the bottle at this stage just so I have an idea of how much milk I should be pumping for an outing.
I was also wondering when everyone switched from a 4oz bottle to a bigger bottle.
Also I have the avent bottles and I have used them about a half a dozen times, seems that the last time I used them they leaked yet they did not do this prior to the last time. Does anyone have any suggestions of what they did if this happened to their bottles. THanks

Re: BFing and Bottles
At one month, DS was taking 1.5-2 ounces.
We are still using the 4oz. bottles now at 4 months, but at night I give him a 6 oz, which he sometimes finishes, sometimes doesn't.

Re: BFing and Bottles
I EBF and give DD the occasional bottle of pumped milk. We started at 1 month and she was taking about 2-3 ounces. At almost 4 months she is taking 4 ounces. I haven't tried more because she seems pretty satisfied, but I will probably try 5 ounces soon (I will need to pump more than one session to get that many ounces I usually only get 3 ounces since I don't pump that often).

Re: BFing and Bottles
I can't remember how much DS was taking at that point, but I think it was at least 3 oz. He's 5.5 months old now and I put 4.5-5 oz in his bottles for daycare. If your DD doesn't finish the bottle, you can always offer it at the next feeding.
I have the Avent bottles and have issues with leaking. I always turn them over to make sure they don't leak. I find that the best way to prevent leaking is to wet the inside of the cap with a little bit of water. This seems to secure the top better.
