BFing mommies, I have a question
I am exclusively bf'ing DS, who is 3 months now. IF I were to get pregnant now, would I have to stop bf'ing?
I would like to have my next baby as close as possible to this one, but I don't want to stop bf'ing DS until he's one.

Re: BFing mommies, I have a question
No- my doctor even made a point of telling me it's possible to do both.
However, by EBFing it might be more difficult to get pg. I'm in the same position. I would LOVE to get pg now (I know- crazy), but I have yet to get my period.

Re: BFing mommies, I have a question
Thanks! I haven't got my period yet either, so I know it's a slim chance, but I keep hoping it happens anyways
I know, it's crazy to think about being pg again so soon, but I think having them close together will be good for them, they will be little buddies!

my dr said they only get concerned if during your first pregnancy you experienced any early contractions or preterm labor symptoms.

Re: BFing mommies, I have a question
I didn't get my period for a year and half while breastfeeding. I got pregnant just before my daughter's second birthday, and continued to nurse for another two months.
A lot of pregnant nursing moms notice a change in their supply. Some nursing babies notice a change in the taste and wean. So I'd be wary of getting pregnant before the six month mark if BFing is very important to you.
The other piece worth mentioning is that BFing while pregnant can be quite uncomfortable -- you will be much more sensitive and possibly sore. Plus I remember having an emotional reaction, feeling very tense while nursing pregnant. Thats not everyone though!

I was just about to post about the change in milk taste to some babies. Some notice and do self wean-its the hormones.

I agree with this. I didnt get my period back till 12 months PP while EBF. I did however BF until I was 5 months pregnant with my second and it was a different experience, very uncomfortable and just not the same.

You don't have to stop. I'm still breastfeeding my DS and I'm 19 weeks. I breastfeed DD#2 until I was 28 weeks I think.
