Does your DC take a pacifier? If so, what brand? My dd refuses it.

Re: Bfing Moms

DS will not take a pacifier! Sometimes I think he would be happier if he could just suck away on it, but he tries to eat it instead... doesn't understand the concept of sucking on it!!! (strange because he will suck on my boob just fine!)

Luckily he doesn't have any issues taking a bottle of BM!

Re: Bfing Moms

Julia never wanted a pacifier and I EBF her for 11 months, if your DD doesn't want it I wouldn't force it, its so hard to wean them in the end.

Re: Bfing Moms

DD will only take the one from the hospital. Luckily she doesn't like it that much, because if we lose them, we are going to be in trouble!

Re: Bfing Moms

First we used the ones from the hospital which were like the Nuks but she kept popping those out all the time so we switched to Sassy Mams. She has never experienced Nipple confusion. She also will take BM from a bottle since 2 weeks old.

Re: Bfing Moms

I first started trying around 6 wks. DS took it once and a while then. From 2mmos on he didnt like it. Won't take it now at all which is very weird because he loves to suck on his hands, bibs and everything else!

We also have a problem lately with him taking a bottle. Which is funny b/c he has been taking bottles since 2 wks old.

Nope. Never took one. We tried to give DD ALL of them and she refused every time.

DS takes his nukie occasionally...he takes it when he is upset and just needs something to sooth him, then he spits it out...

ETA: I have the Avent ones (clear ones) and I love them since they're really light, come with a cover and leave some breathing room around the mouth area.

Re: Bfing Moms

DD got hooked on the one we got from the hospital which was the soothies. We tried every other pacifier and it was the only one she liked. The soothie she had was supposed to be from birth to 3mths so finally at 5mths I got her a super soothie which is for teething babies since it was a little tougher and that slight difference wound up turning her off to pacifiers for good so we were down with pacifiers by 5mths.

I ran out and got the Gerber Nuk tonight. She seemed to like it. She spit it out when she calmed down and fell asleep. Lets hope tonight is better than last night was!
