BFing Moms: Do your DCs do this?

DS is 5 months old. Ever since he was very young, he always wants to hold something while nursing. He loves to grab my hair or pull on my shirt. He also likes to grab my nose or mouth. Occasionally he smacks his arm against me several times in a row. I try to distract him from hitting me, but depending on his mood, he'll go back to doing it.

Does anyone else's DC do this? Did your DC do this the entire time you nursed?

Yup.... Alexa has just started doing this, she is 3 months. Although she has started PINCHING me! OUCH!!!

My LLL leader recommended I get a nursing necklace for her to hold onto and distract her while she is nursing.....

Yes DS has started the habit of pulling on my clothes and nuring bra. Sometimes I'll let him hold my finger too.

The only things I stop him from doing are hitting me and pulling my hair. I'm losing enough hair as it is. Chat Icon Once I stop him from doing one thing, he'll just start puling my shirt or grabbing my face.

My first dd at that age would grab my hair and pull it.

Allison just started doing this in the past couple weeks! She loooves to touch my face, grab my nose, stick her fingers in my mouth, its pretty funny. I always have my hair up in a ponytail so she can't grab that. She started with pulling at the spaghetti strap on my tank top and has now graduated to face grabbing Chat Icon

DS grabs the string of my sweatshirt, or my necklace. He also always grabs the burp cloth of my shoulder everytime I burp him and go to switch sides.

DD just started doing this a month ago. I think it's hysterical!

She'll usually pull my shirt over her face--I have very short hair so she can't pull on it yet Chat Icon

But my favorite thing that she does is when she grabs my finger and does little aerobic exercises. She doesn't just keep her arm still--she moves her arm up and down repeatedly, even when she's half asleep. It's the funniest thing!

I wore a nursing necklace and this kept me from getting beaten up. It also kept DD nursing longer because she got less distracted.

I should probably look into this b/c it has been such a struggle recently to get DS to nurse in the morning. He just wants to play and gets distracted really easily. He used to nurse at least twice as long. Plus, he has been so exhausted from daycare recently that he falls asleep as soon as we get home instead of nursing an hour or two after getting home.
