I breastfeed her for 10-15 minutes on each breast. Then when she's done with that, I give her 2 ounces of formula. I don't pump.

At every feeding? or just when she seems to want more?
thanks

Re: BFing moms who supplement...SOS
I give around 1-2 bottles of formula a day--somewhere around midday, especially if I am out and maybe around 8pm-ish.
It's hard for me to say how much, because Abby fights the bottle so sometimes it's 2 oz, sometimes 4.
I do not pump at all.

At the start I was doing it when she seemed to want more....which has now turned into every feeding. So I just get the bottle ready for her before I sit down to feed her. Then I can give it to her right when I'm done. Sometimes, she'll fall alseep for a few minutes first....but she always wakes up and wants more.

Re: BFing moms who supplement...SOS
I breastfeed DD for 10-20 mins each breast... then depending on if she's still hungry, I'll give her formula... I usually start with 1 ounce and work upwards if she's still hungry. I will also give her a bottle if we are out somewhere... if I do that, then I try to pump after breastfeeding once that day for about 10 mins just to keep my supply up.

Re: BFing moms who supplement...SOS
In the beginning, I would breast feed and then supplement an oz or two. Then I would pump in between feedings.
This didn't help though so I stopped pumping, except when I needed some milk if I was going out and just used formula.
At five months she is up to abut 11 oz of formula and usually just breast feeds and night and in the morning. I can tell she is starting to wean herself since she likes the quick hit she gets with bottles

If she would wake up and latch, I would feed on each side for 30 minutes and then offer her a couple of ounzes. She usually took it because I just couldn't make enough milk for her (no idea why though). I only supplemented after she fed so she would s u c k effectively.

Re: BFing moms who supplement...SOS
I went back to work at 6 months so this was my schedule:
I BF exclusively for 4 1/2 months. Then I replaced one daytime BF with a bottle.
A few weeks later I replaced a second daytime feeding with a bottle.
From 6 months until 10 1/2 months, she's been on the same schedule:
Wake up at 6 am & BF
Bottle around 9:30 am (now she takes 8 oz, it was 6 oz for a long time though)
Bottle around 11:30 am (again, was 6 oz, now is 8 oz)
Bottle around 3 pm (little one- was 3 oz, now 4 oz)
I was BF her at 4 pm when I picked her up, but she does not need that feeding now & neither do I
6:30 pm: second BF of the day
I only BF twice a day now, and I will be cutting down to only the evening feeding soon. It has worked out really great for us.
Hope that helps.

Re: BFing moms who supplement...SOS
When I went back to work, I was able to pump at work but only during my lunch break. I always brought the milk I pumped from the day before to day care, then they also fed her formula during the day. I BF in the morning and at night, and exclusively BF on weekends.
