BFing question
I'm both BFing and formula feeding. Question is...is it bad that I'm BFing even though I haven't been eating the greatest and hardly am drinking any water? Is that bad nutrition for the baby?

Re: BFing question
While I was BF'ing (pumping) I lived on KitKats and Vimto (which is like a fruit juice) they will be fine, its you who should eat better! They get all the best bits from you!
Get some KitKats in ya!

Re: BFing question
Thanks! Is she still getting the beneficial nutrients from me even though I'm not putting them in my body? I am taking my prenatals still...I just can't find time to eat these days!

Re: BFing question
Even with a bad diet your breastmilk is better for her than the formula.

Re: BFing question
Its ok for the baby because the baby will get all the nutrients before you will. But like it was said before, make sure you are taking care of you But as we all know, its hard when you have a baby to take care of. P.S. Ever since Halloween I have been on a kit kat kick!

Re: BFing question
I wouldn't worry too much about what you're eating, but I found that when I wasn't drinking enough water my supply went down. Every time it seemed like I didn't have much milk I realized I hadn't been drinking enough water. It doesn't have to be plain water, just make sure you get enough fluids.

I noticed the same thing - I'm going to at least up my water supply. Thanks again everyone!

Re: BFing question
Actually, all the baby needs will go to your milk. It is your body that will not get the proper nutrition. Make sure you continue to take your prenatals.
