BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
Today is CD33. It is the 2nd cycle off BCP so I am not sure when I am ovulating, but figured I would give it a shot and test. BFN
In all honesty, I am more upset about the long cycles than I am about the BFN (because I figured that it would take awhile). My first cycle off BCP was 52 days long I know 33 days is still normal, but I fear that it may be another long one. Has this happened to anyone? Is it still a symptom of the BCP?
I am trying not to worry, but it is so hard

Re: BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
It took me awhile to regulate off of BCP. I had the opposite issue; I had really short cycles. My first cycle of the pill was 21 days! I know waiting stinks, but it looks like your cycle lengths are shrinking. Give it another month or two before you panic. HTH.

Re: BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
im a regular poster- in hiding
before BCP (like 8 years ago) I had 35 day cycles like clockwork.
went off BCP 4 months ago, and they have been anywhere from 30 days to 37 days. its very frustrating! Im on CD 32 now and nada - I would give it a few more months, or next time you go to the doc ask.

If you're not sure if/when you're ovulating, then you really can't be sure when AF is due.
33 days isn't really that long... especially after coming off BCP. It can take a while for your body to regulate.
Just hang in there!

Re: BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
Thanks everyone! I am trying not to think about it until next week. I know anything within 40 days is "normal", so I am going to try not to think about it until next Friday (CD40). If I still don;t get AF, I am going to worry

Re: BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
my first cycle off BC i didnt get AF for almost 60 days The next 2 months it was 30 days and then it started getting longer and longer again I also feel BC messed up my cycles. I was never really "regular" before BC (i started in my late teens and came off it in my early 20's and went back on it after having DS), but i also wasnt this irregular/inconsistent. Def try to figure out when you ovulate so you can figure out your AF

it almost a year for my cycles to get back on track after bc. I've been off bc since Sept 06 and just got my bfp in April.

Re: BFN and long cycles - any thoughts?
I went off BCP last June, had some longer cycles, some normal, and then started having really long (60-day) cycles. I got my BFP before my body regulated. I think sometimes it just takes awhile though it's very frustrating since it makes it hard to know when to BD. At my last annual, the gyno said if they continue to be irregular past 6 months, to come back in so I did. They prescribed clomid, which I took, but it didn't shorten that particular cycle. Somehow we managed to get pregnant anyway (I'm about 8 weeks pregnant, but my last CD1 was 3/20 - that was my first clomid cycle). Believe me, I know what you're going through - you just have to hang in there!
