BFN on 2nd Round of IVF no FE ...PGD? SA?
So we just got news that our 2nd round of IVF didnt work. Out of 21 follies, 14 retrieved, 8 mature, 7 fertilized ONLY ONE was a blast and didnt take.
Going for blood and sono tomorrow and starting 3rd round of IVF...
Anyone do a DNA Sperm analysis.karyotype and/or PGD? I think that is next for us...any advice would help...thanks!

Dh had a SA and they had found DNA fragmentation. Now we're dealing with some other issues. Our dr told him some "options" that could help.

we did dna defragmentation prior to IVF because my DH had a slight morphology issue. turned out he just needed to take antioxidants.

We have "undiagnosed infertility"
His SA came back perfect...
Our story in a nutshell...
tried 1 year on own got pregnant MC 4months
9 IUI's
1 IVF- 22 Follies, 16 Eggs, 8IVF/8ICSI
10 embryo's, 2 blasts, and I have my MIRACLE THOMAS...
2nd IVF- 21 F, 8 mature egs, 7 fertilized ICSI
NONE
After discussion with the dr. if my genetics were comprimised
A. the eggs wouldn't be mature
B. would have never fertilized
C. never made it to blast 5DT
we do 5 day transfers...
we go tomorrow...PGD is SO EXPENSIVE and on top of the IVF portion that is NOT COVERED (MEDS & Retrieval) by insurance--Im going for broke :)

It sounds like you did 1 IVF and it worked. And then your 2nd failed. Not 2 failed IVFs, right? 
Could just be a blip.

Yes, Round 1 IVF worked...round 2 didnt...
and the 9 IUI's before that didnt work either...
Could be a blip but the RE seems to think something is wrong since out of all the eggs I make and all the ones that fertilize none lived to freeze...

I wouldn't jump the gun on doing PGD. Even with doing it, there is no guarantee it will work. If you have no known issues genetically, I'd give it another shot.
We have to do PGD due to genetic disorder, and we had three failed rounds.
IVF#1 -- 7 eggs, all mature, nothing fertilized
IVF#2 -- 10 eggs, 8 mature, 6 biopsied, one normal chromosomally and disorder free, chemical
IVF#3 -- 10 eggs, 9 mature, 5 fertilized, one normal, BFN.
DD#1 is a PGD/IVF baby and will be 3 in august.
Keep your chin up and look into natural methods to help (acupuncture, herbs) before going down that road.

We are getting the DNA Frag Test done ASAP...going to dr. this morning to figure out next steps. THey mentioned PGD becuase with our results (or lack thereof) it seems to be genetic.

8dp3dt is still early for a BFP...keep the faith...My GF was 12dp5dt and got a BFN and her beta came up BFP... Ill include you in my prayers...

my first IVF i had 11 eggs retrieved, about 8 or 9 fertilized, 2 made it to blast which we transferred but the others didnt. I had a bfn that cycle, we were told it could be embryo quality issues or egg issues. i was so depressed just thinking about the price of pgd. Then the RE told me that even if i did the sperm fragmentation test it wouldnt affect how we did the next cycle. so i couldnt understand why would we want to do it?
anyways....my 2nd IVF we decided to do the ER 2 days earlier than before and then we did a 3 day transfer instead of 5 day. and that cycle worked!
try not to get too stressed maybe it can be something as simple as how long you were on stims or doing a 3 day vs a 5 day?

ITA. One failed IVF cycle could really be a random piece of bad luck. Remember, only 50% of IVF cycles work, so you're still in the normal range. See what your dr recommends about your next protocol.

The DNA Frangmentation test will just give us a piece of mind as to weather the sperm genetics are comprimised. It will not change our cycle plan...
We decided against doing PGD only because 1. they can only do it on Day5 embryos
2. depending on how many I have (and based on past 2 cycles I didnt have but 2 full balsts) it wouldn't be worth the $6000 on that few embryos.
3. even if we did #2, the FET would be less likely to take then if we were to transfer D5 on a fresh cycle.
I understand IVF is 50/50.
Reviewing our past cycle it seems as though I made 2 sets of eggs...based on follie size and the amount retrieved vs. mature.
They put me on BC for 10 days and we will get the DNA SA results next friday. I will then start either cetrocide/ganarellix/leupron
for 10 days-- up my dose of follistim to 225-250 and stim for 11-12 days to try and give me more/mature eggs...looking for follies >18.
We will still do ICSI on all mature eggs and stay with a D5T.
 Im excited to start again and hopefully be blessed with another baby. It happened once so I know it can happen again, just in due time...
One would think that after 5 years of infertility and soooooo many failed attempts weather trying on your own (1 year), 9 IUI's,2 IVF's , and a MC 16wks. that you would get used to the dissapointments...it doesnt seem to get any easier... but for me now that I do have a baby it doesnt last as long...just buckling up my boot straps and starting all over again...
