BFN...now with a question for you ladies on bottom of page 1
I don't know what hurts more. Getting my period this morning, or the look in my husband's eyes when I told him.
I'm going to let myself have a knock down, drag out cry, then I'm going to call my docor and tell him that I'm going to his office on Monday morning to try for IUI #3.

Re: BFN
Thanks. This day is only bearable because I can talk to you guys. I finally picked myself off of the floor and called Dr. Brenner's office.
I asked if he would increase the clomid to 100mg's since the 50 didn't produce any more follies that I probably produce on my own. Last month it was two and this month only one. Am I crazy, or is this stuff SUPPOSED to help you make more follies...what's the deal?
I just got a call and he wants to see me, but won't increase the clomid for this cycle. He want so discuss other "therapies" as the nurse put it, and said that since I'm ovulating, they won't increase the clomid.
I'm confused? Why wouldn'd he increase it since two cycles didn't produce more than three follies in total?

Re: BFN...now with a question for you ladies on bottom of page 1
Because with IUI, he's not going to want too many follicles. Then there is a higher chance of multiples. He may suggest injectables or IVF...but more Clomid is probably not the answer. The other thing is the longer and more Clomid you take, the more it can thin your lining over time.

Gerty is exactly right.
Clomid is so unpredictable as to how it's going to work with your chemistry that 2x the dosage doesn't necessarily mean 2x the follicles.
Not to discourage you but both times I was on Clomid I had a few follies for the first two cycles and then didn't respond at all for the third cycle.
They couldn't explain why, but moved us on to IVF, where I responded much better to those meds.
Sorry you are going through this.

Nothings wrong with a little pity party. I have them myself - Just make sure they don't last that long and keep yourself happy (easier said than done - I KNOW) Just remember your husband will always love you no matter what! Dee
