Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney
They said they have to be 3. Can I ask....how do they confirm they are 3? My DD will be 2 and a half. Should I not bother then?

They don't require any form of identification but they do request the client be 3 and up. You can go to Castle Couture behind Cinderella Castle and get pixie dusted (fine glitter) for free. Just ask!
You can do it at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as well but one, I don't want the girls inside if they're not doing the full makeover (potential meltdown) and two, it's ridiculously cramped in there.

Re: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney
It's the honor system, but they do often ask children how old they are in conversation. So if she says 2 they won't do it.
We have went in and asked for Pixie dust without an issue (I think it's more special in there than in the store). But again, they asked how old my DD was, so not sure if age is an issue for getting PD in the boutique.

Re: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney
If your DDis under 3 they won't have their own park ticket which is how they will know that they aren't three. They wouldn't let my DD do it (we went in mid/late May and her birthday was in June) because she wasn't three. As I understand it - it really depends on who is there but they usually stick to the 3 rule.

They asked you to produce your daughter's park ticket? That's strange.

See that was my thoughts. I had a feeling thats how they would be able to verify her age.
Ok. So I guess I will scratch that idea.
I remember you mentioned once before about they little girls getting pixie dust etc...is this the Castle Couture.
Is the Harmony Barber shop something I should consider in place of Bibbidi? or just wait to do bibbiddi next time we go.??

Re: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney
You can just stop by Castle Couture - it's the shop behind Cinderella Castle just to the left if you're coming through the Castle from Main Street.
I wouldn't take her into Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as you might be facing a meltdown if she feels cheated without getting the whole treatment. Littles just don't get it sometimes. <3
If you want to try Harmony Barber Shop, get there first thing in the morning because the line can get really long. She's old enough and they do a special "first haircut" experience too.
Honestly, if you think she'll be happy with just the pixie dust from Castle Couture, I'd go that route and save BBB for when she can really appreciate it - and cost you a small fortune. ;)

No, but when we asked before our trip they told us that they must be three (this was 1.5 years ago). I have had friends try - and someone above asked how they would tell - well under 3 doesn't have any park tickets or keys to the world. I have had a friend try who had a 2.5 year old and they were asked to see their keys to the world which they didn't have because their child wasn't 3.
You can call and ask but when we inquired about it - we were basically told for liability reasons - (the makeup and accessories says no under 3) - but they might have changed since then.

Instead I did my DD's hair and let her wear a dress - they sell cute small metal crowns in the gifts stores in the parks and at the hotel just like BBB. I got my DD one of those and did my own hair style. Several people mentioned going to Castle couture and getting pixie dust.
Also do a search over on Disboards - I swore I have read in the past about people under 3 doing something over at the barber shop which was cute and much cheaper.

I have also seen posts over on Disboards where people have said they have asked to see KTTK to confirm that they were 3.

I knew the age limit was because of liability so I guess if someone's trying to sneak a child in, asking for the KTTW is an easy way to get proof of age. We've never booked an underage client (that sounds funny) into BBB so I didn't have any personal experience with the checking procedure.
The Harmony Barber Shop will do colored gel and larger confetti - it's cute, especially for boys. I'd still rather do the dress from home, tiara from one of the stores (even the resorts have them now), and then ask for pixie dust at Castle Couture.
Let us know what you decide!

Thanks so much guys! We decided not to BBB this time around. Next trip when she is a little older I will. Not worth the hassle of worrying if they will take her. And I could just see the screams now if we are in there and they refuse to take her
I called about Harmony and decided against it as well. She doesnt need a first haircut and I already got her a cinderella princess gown/ tiara etc. She doesnt have a ton of hair and its sooo curly that gel will be a disater!
I will stick with Castle Couture for Pixie Dust and next visit do the whole BBB thing!
Thanks for all your help
