Big doings with the Mets.... they get DELGADO !!!

This is the guy we SHOULD have gotten last season.

Mets trade Jacobs and Petit (a minor league pitcher) for Delgado and 7 million.

I like the trade. Even though I feel it came a year late. Jacobs I liked... but he was still unproven talent and if you can land Delgado... you do it.

The only problem is... if Delgado falters... he will be public enemy number one in NY quicker than you can say Fugeddaboutit! Mets fans are still ****** at the fact that Delgado's agent screwed us last offseason.


But with Thome now being traded to the Phillies... Florida in dismantle mode... Washington has no ownership still... the Mets MUST take the NL east.

If we can get Wagner (who we offered 3/30 today)... the NL east can be ours for the taking. Screw the wild card.

I agree - however, I'm never going to count the Braves out of it.
