big sigh of relief for us....
so you may remember my "fretting" after samantha's last drs visit when the dr (one we hadn't yet seen at mid suffolk) made a big deal about how little she weighed and really freaked me out....well, we went tonight for what was a very early 4 month visit (she will be 4 mos on the 22nd) and they weighed her again - and she had only gained 11 oz - so I totally thought they would tell me we had to supplement ....
instead we saw the dr we really like (and had last seen at the 2 month mark!) and she didn't even say a thing about her weight - so naturally I brought it up - explaining I had gotten freaked out last time by the dr and researched online and all and wanted to make sure she isn't being categorized as "failure to thrive" or anything bad and you know what she basically laughed at us saying samantha is fine - just the fact she takes 6 oz of expresed milk at night is great, that all babies grow different and she wasn't at all concerned since samantha seems perfectly happy and content and is doing everything she should for her age!
i felt like a huge weight has been off my shoulders since them - - i no longer worry about "stuffing my boob" in her mouth every two hrs or so during the day (samantha is so stubborn if she's not hungry she'll just sit there with it in her mouth anyway ) and of course, we want her to gain (which she always has but not HUGE amounts!) but now we have heard a "dr" confirm to us what we had decided (or dh had declared for us proior to the appt. that "she's fine, she is doing great bfing and they can go screw if they worry you again!" ) i love my dh for being so supportive and really feel like I can exhale for the firt time in about 5 weeks!
thanks to everyone who responded to previous posts on this again too!

I'm glad you feel better. Each child is different...I have a little niece (see avatar) and she is going to be 4 in Feb. She's tiny and petite because that is what she is. We kid because she is going to eat my sister out of house and home but she stays little.

we agreed to do just that....samantha wound up not getting her 4 month shots since it was early and this way we can go back and start talking about food, etc...and we made the appt with the same dr again....

I am so happy for you. I always felt that my son was not gaining enough weight when I BF but he is just a skinny kid. He is 21 months and still in the 25 % and he eats like a pig! You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work!
