Days of our Lives Star Alison Sweeney Joins Biggest Loser
Hurrah! NBC has tapped Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, Days of our Lives) to replace funnylady Caroline Rhea as host of The Biggest Loser.
Sweeney — who debuted on Days in 1993 — candidly discussed her own struggles with weight loss and body image in her book, All The Days of My Life (So Far), published in 2004. The currently slimmed-down star keeps her figure by running after her 2-year-old son, Benjamin, and working out at "boot camp" classes as often as possible.
"Alison is an incredible talent," says Loser's exec producer Ben Silverman, "and will bring not only a great fresh face to the show but a huge, loyal fan base. We are thrilled and look forward to another strong season."
Oh, and no worries, Sami fans: Sweeney's nighttime TV gig shouldn't interfere too much with her Days duties as Salem's resident scheme queen.
