The winner was my favorite from the very beginning, Danni:
Some of the runner ups:
SO inspirational, I'm really sad it's over but want to continue following Danni, she seems like a really cool person.

They all looked so amazing! I loved Dani. I think the biggest shock for me was when Lisa came out. I wasn't expecting such a huge difference.

I am a fan of this show but the final weights are skewed. They basically dehydrate themselves so they have a super low number. If you weighed them today they would be 10-20 pounds heavier.
I do think their transformations are amazing but I do not think they should allow "tricks" that they use at the end.

I'm not a fan of the show for very similar reasons. It's great that it motivates so many people, but I think it also gives people very unrealistic expectations as far as weight loss. These people lose 10-15lbs a week! They eat, sleep, and breathe Diet and Fitness. For an ordinary person this just isn't possible.
I always wonder if they actually manage to keep it off. Going home must be a huge transition.

Not to take away from the work these people did, but I watched the finale, and those after photos are so photoshopped! It's a shame really, the way the looked in reality was good enough.

Re: Biggest Loser finale - even if you didn't watch, you have to see these before and afters! (spoilers)
This is the first full season I've watched and I thought they were pretty clear about how much time they spend in the gym and what they learned about food. Although it could be trite at times, they also showed how many children are obese these days, usually with obese parents as well. They had a lot of segments about choices, food, fitness, bullying, school sports, peer pressure.
I think people who just let a program or tv show do their thinking for them are limiting their own success. Nobody's fault but theirs, if that's the maximum effort they're going to put into it, you know? It's really challenging to keep it going for months and years, and I have a lot of respect for people who succeed at that. More than people who go on a 12 week reality show and then go right back to old habits, or who invest in 'get skinny fast' pills, cleanses, fad diets, etc.

I do like to watch, but I hate the weeks when they lose 6 pounds and their trainers are disappointed in them and said that there is no way they couldn't have lost more. I would be ecstatic with a 2 pound loss in one week.
I found this article about where thy are now. Most have gained back a little (which is fine IMO) and some up to 50 pounds, but they are a hell of a lot better off than they were. The only one that really irks me is Erik, the W Islip guy. He's put 150+ back on!
